Mental Image: Beach Smoking Section

Narrative & Notes: Tobacco smoke on the beach—more pleasant here than in reality with smoldering grass, tobacco, menthol, and a coastal brine. Tropical stone fruits and green mango lingered in the background with brine, dry wood, mineral smoke, and pepper. Medium to light-bodied with gentle brine and oily breach bronzer lotions. Slightly acrid mineral smoke and dried grass waited further in with hints of green mango and chili powder or candied pineapples with a touch of acrid bitterness at the end.  he finish was medium to short with some oily spirit alongside a soft brine and cigar box.

This was wonderfully tropical and beachy, with just enough smoldering grassfire and tobacco to entice a peat-head. The aroma was gentle which carried onto the palate, which, while oily, was a touch light and occasionally bitter. Yet, this was remarkably drinkable— a quaffable or session whisky if ever there was one. It was hardly priced at that level though, a common complaint of mine when it comes to Compass Box— good whisky, but priced to be great.
