Nose: Very sherry, dried fruits, slightly plastic at times, citrus, clove oil, lacquered wood, new shoes, flat cola and ginger.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied, peppery, dried fruits, lacquered wood, cigar box, plastics, flat cola, ginger, clove.
Finish: Long and peppery with concentrated fruity syrups and lacquered wood.

Narrative & Notes: Rich sherried fruits jumped into a massive ball pit and disappeared amongst the brightly colored plastic orbs. Plasticine and antiseptic cleaning solutions cleared the way for clove oil, lacquered wood, and new leather shoes. Flat cola arrived with a touch of ginger and molasses as more tropical citrus teased in the background. Medium to full-bodied with a peppery punch of dried fruits, lacquered wood, cigar boxes, and plastic. Ball pits and expensive table top armies lingered behind sweet fruity syrups and the sweet herbal quality of an old cigar box. Lacquered wood arrived with cola, ginger, and clove toward the end and gradually extended throughout. The finish was long and peppery with concentrated fruity syrups and lacquered wood.
A fascinating malt with a wonderfully unique combination of flavors on the nose, most of which carried over onto the palate. Everything was fairly well-integrated and the whisky felt nicely balanced considered the high abv. It was peppery, there was no way around that, but more so in the way of a young spirited whisky than anything else, and that pepper lingered on an impressively long finish.
There was a lot to love here, though much of it was in line with what you expect from a robust cask-driven whisky. This was sure to please fans of big sticky sweet PX maturations— which is not my preferred sort of whisky.
