Nose : Citrus and sugar with subtle tropical fruit. Lime and lemon peel gummies, cotton candy, and berry flavored syrups— fruity effervescent sugars overloaded the senses. Lemon curd and vanilla cream cupcakes led to hints of tart blackberries and dragonfruit.
Palate : Medium-bodied and dry on the finish with notes of citrus, caramel desserts, and malty pastries. Sweet notes of brown sugar, fried dough, and tres leches cake balanced against lemon and lime. Floral notes of orange blossom and annatto seeds with blood orange arrived on the back palate with sugary fried desserts and cherries.
Finish : Lingering fruity sugars.

Notes : This was very nice for a Glenlossie. It was sweet and sugary without ever becoming cloyingly so. The fruits and caramelized sugars on the palate balanced nicely with hints of fragrant spice and fried pastries. While I wish the body was a bit thicker and the finish longer, I did enjoy the subtle astringency that kept me coming back for another sip. Certainly of the nicest Glenlossie I have tried.
The dram took me back to childhood nights out at a local family Tex-Mex restaurant. This specifically brought to mind dessert— fruity sodas, fried dough garnished with citrus and sugars, and tres leche. I can almost hear the guitar player camped out in the corner taking requests from the restaurant crowd. The place is long gone now, but the memories remain. I was not a super adventurous eater as a child— that did not seriously (and abruptly) change until college— and that place was my absolute favorite for nachos. It is a simple and silly meal, but I would give anything to go back one more time.
Overall, a delicious Glenlossie that took me to some unexpected places. I thought this was nicely balanced with an intriguing flavor profile. It could have used a bit more staying power, but it was pleasant to sip on.
