Nose: Tropical fruits and dried grass with a kiss of menthol; slightly underripe mango with guava candies.

Palate: Medium-bodied and mild, gentle tropical fruits and dried grass, a kiss of salt led to herbal tea with a citrusy twist, candied citrus rind, malty biscuits and lemon cookies.

Finish: Medium-length with herbal tea, a kiss of black pepper, and fruity shortbread cookies.

Narrative & Notes: I had few expectations coming into this young Glenlossie, so I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity of the flavors and the delightful finish. Plenty of tropical fruity notes veered between hard candies and malty pastries— especially shortbread cookies perfect for tea time. Herbal and grassy elements provided some structure and links between the mild nose and the slightly tannic tea notes on the palate.

Overall, delightful and simple— there was not a whole lot of depth or complexity, but the flavors were clear and vibrant. Nothing was overwrought or overdone and the malt felt balanced across the palate.
