Narrative & Notes: The aroma was spirited with dried orchard fruits leading the way to bath time as a mild chalkiness and hints of bath salts took time to arrive. The dram gradually turned fruity with pineapple and mango-flavored candies while underlying sweet milk chocolate promised bonbons on the palate. The flavor profile was spirited and loaded with sweet apples and cider mill products— fried apple cider donuts, apple butter, and slices of gooey spiced pie. Topical vibes developed slowly, but eventually, tinned pineapple and mango juice appeared— though water brought them on quicker. Buttery pastries, a kiss of salt, and a fruity oiliness lingered on the back end and through on a medium-length finish with hints of something more herbal. A few drops of water gave the dram an oilier and heavier mouthfeel with more tropical fruit syrup.

This Glenburgie was okay— but it lacked the funky-oily quality I adore. It was a touch spirited and simple at times. There were lovely tropical fruits, but without the earthy, grassy, or creamy elements that might have pulled it all together. The wife thought it deserved honorable mention as a bath-time scotch, something perfect to relax with, but recommended using it for a highball or putting it on the rocks.
